One of the driving factors behind WVCC is our President and owner, Tom Plank. Tom started West View Equipments in 1996. In 2003, he merged his business with Cunningham Pump and Supply Company to form West View Cunningham Co.
Tom enjoys the variety of work that goes along with being president of WVCC. Whether he’s helping a customer with specs for a pump application or designing a new logo for the company, Tom is never bored. He enjoys attending the sales conferences periodically hosted by WVCC suppliers where he can network and develop relationships so he can continue offering the highest-quality products to customers.
Among many other things, Tom’s duties include helping people solve problems.
“You’re kind of babysitting their systems,” Tom said. “And if they have problems they can’t do it without our expertise sometimes.”
While some problems require outside help, WVCC offers training programs so customers can save money on repairs and maintenance by teaching them how to do it internally. Our customer service at WVCC goes beyond providing guidance on pump selection to actually making onsite visits and hosting learning sessions. For those occasions when you do need assistance from pump professionals, we have an experienced service team available 24/7.
“We have a good knowledgeable and certified staff that’s available on standby to assist customers at any time,” Tom said. “We are a dynamic and growing organization that strives to exceed our customer’s expectations and go the extra mile.”
When Tom isn’t helping customers, working with suppliers, or solving problems at work, he’s probably following all of the Pittsburgh sports teams, the Pirates, Steelers, and the Pens. You can also find him coaching his daughter’s soccer team, playing golf, or indulging in some fine dining in the Pittsburgh area.
